Heading to C4KK today we saw a herd of camels.
Ok, you might be saying, “ummm, where are the camels?” Well I tried to get my phone out quickly to take a photo BUT if you look in the side mirror you’ll see one camel. Sorry it wasn’t a better photo, it was pretty cool though to see a whole herd. Although not too cool knowing they were headed to slaughter 🙁
We also stopped at Sunny Lucky to pick up November’s food purchases:
It costs approximately $1000 each month to buy items such as beans, rice, spaghetti, sossi (soy product), bar soap, laundry soap, cooking gas, bread, sausage (they get this treat once a week!) and eggs.
Anyway, we arrived at C4KK, set up our computers, got the printer online so I could print some photos and suddenly steamer went off. Take a deep breath and call Kenya Power….we’ll send someone out. Okey dokey, I’ll just wait then :/
Instead of sitting around though I checked on the property:
Our friend and board member, Charles, gave us some napier grass (food for the cows) which was planted today.
He also brought us some banana trees which are being planted in the large shamba area:
Then it was time to “fling poo”! Our neighbor let us get some manure for the bananas, shamba nursery and napier. Roman, Bosco and Chuck shoveled about 3 ton of the stuff!
A few of the sites I saw this morning:
By the time we returned to C4KK (after unloading the poo) it was lunch time and the steamer was back on! Now as I am finishing up, the steamer has gone back off and my battery is just about done. I’ll stop here and post before I lose everything!
