Getting a new bed is pretty exciting, but what if you have never slept on a mattress or bed before? Wouldn’t that be even more exciting? It is such a blessing to see the smiles of those who are receiving a bed for the very first time in their lives. Some are young and some not so young, but the smiles are just as beautiful!
Jephrice and her 8 children recently received beds and “Bwana Yesu asifiwe”.. ‘praise God’ is all Jephrice could say [about]this blessing in her life.” They also received a new roof on their home thanks to your generous support.
Her daughters were excited to finally have some place comfortable to sleep and couldn’t wait for nightfall to go to bed!
Jared is the 4th child out of 5 in his family. His father died in 2010 leaving only the mother to care for the family. There are no other family members to help and his elder siblings left home due to the harsh conditions. Last year, before sitting for the final exams, he and his younger brother were sent home from school because the family couldn’t raise funds for the mandatory feeding program at school. Jared then decided to work in the farms to help raise the money since his mother was working casual jobs and being paid as little at 30 shillings a day (that’s approximately 35 cents). Saved By God’s Grace has gotten Jared back into school with a new school uniform and shoes.
