Yes we have the same 24 hours here in Kenya as you do in the States but time just seems to move differently here….slower. You may think, “well I would like to slow down for a bit” and I may have agreed with you previously. Thinking maybe a day or two of slow down would be nice, but when it’s every single day I sometimes want to say “get a move on and get it done already!” I admit to still having those days even after living here for over a year and believe me I am not a type-A personality either but….
Here’s just one example of timing. We are having electricity wired at C4KK (been in process for a little over a month now and hoping to have electricity by Christmas) but during this time a bird actually built a nest in the wires, laid eggs and the eggs hatched! Now the birds have to be evicted in order for the wiring to continue.
You know the saying…be careful what you ask for? I hate asking the Lord for patience because I know how patience is won, dealing with issues that make me need patience in order to get through it. Perhaps by the end of my time here in Kenya I will be so filled with patience I won’t even notice the slow pace but by the time that occurs I will be with the Lord so it will all work out in the end.
