C4KK still does not have electricity and that means my computer isn’t turned on all day and that means I don’t get my stuff done during the day.  By the time we get home, usually around 6:30-7, make dinner (no drive-thru’s to make this easier) and relax a bit it’s time for bed and it’s then I think about turning on the computer…which I normally don’t.  sidenote:  I will be happy when we won’t have that commute.   All that being said, means blog posts are slow in coming and I apologize for that.  I do try to write something on my phone but my fingers get a bit cramped before too long!

Anyway, here’s a water update for you:

As shown in a previous post the tank stand and tank are now up.  Piping was done last week….piping from the tank to shamba (farm) areas, wash basins (for washing clothes), showers, sinks near bathrooms and sink in kitchen!  A lot of work was done and we are thankful for John (water fundi) who helped make this possible.

The lack of electricity (off for a week so far) would not deter anyone from the task of piping water. We were/are thankful for the generator! In this photo: Chuck, Bosco and John.

Forms still need to be removed, but now it is easier to water the crops!

No more washing clothes in buckets and wheelbarrows! The wash basins, back to the right, will ease this chore.

You should have seen the kids' faces when they saw running water into the shower!

Bonface & Edward will no longer have to brush their teeth outside. Water is piped to the bathroom area and the sink will be installed next week.

Thanks dad for the ceramic drill bit....came in very handy when piping water into the kitchen!

The boys help with the soak pit (used for the waste water from the kitchen)

Ann LOVES having running water in the kitchen!

I've never seen kids so excited to wash dishes! I say it lasts for about a week 🙂

Whew!  As I said it was a busy week, even without the luxury of electricity…but that also meant not as many updates here and I am sorry for that.

Next week will be another busy week and we are thankful God has and continues to provide for the projects He wants done.  Please remember our matching donation for the Stack the Stones project is still underway.  It was scheduled to end June 30 but we still have $4250 which could be matched so we are hoping the deadline can be pushed back until July 31.

As always, and please know we feel this way even if we don’t mention it all the time, we appreciate your support – both prayerfully and financially.
