Short post today
This blog post is short...why? I'm home today baking Christmas cookies and since I'm home that means I'm not at C4KK, pretty obvious huh? But here's the most recent photo I have of the tank stand. Normally nothing gets thrown away (not always a good thing in my...
Well, well, well
My bad attempt at a pun for this "well" blog post 🙂 The tank stand continues to be constructed (there is actually another section on but I haven't gotten a photo yet). The room will be for Roman, the farm manager. And a top was put on the well. When I talked with...
Pizza, Kenyan style
Before I get into the real pizza issue in the blog you need a bit of background info. First, there is NO place in Tala to get pizza...no restaurant makes/sells it, grocery stores don't sell the ingredients and we haven't found pepperoni ANYWHERE in Kenya (hence the...
Butterflies abound
The other day while checking on Fudge and Splash I noticed a lot of butterflies and thought I'd try my hand at capturing a few on film. Here's what I got: God sure does amazing work!
Oh poo!
Literally....while I was helping with Fudge and Splash I stepped in it and got it all over my favorite jeans. A friend asked how I got it on my jeans because cow poo SHOULD be on the ground, right?! Yup, but with the very tall grass the poo hits the top of the grass...
Rolling with the punches

God’s abundance!
Time for a shamba update. The kids have been eating the cabbage, sukuma and tomatoes from the shamba...yeah God! Looks to be a plentiful season! And Ann received another piece of furniture...a wardrobe. Since I've known her (3 years) she has always stored...
Greetings!
Thought introductions were finally in order. C4KK now has 2 "local" cows (unlike the zero-grazing cow we will get once the animal enclosure is finished). These cows need no special food or shelter and are able to graze around the property. When they were first left...
Daily life
I was asked recently to take some photos on one day, at a particular time. It shows what is happening or what we see on a typical day at C4KK and I wanted to share that with all of you: There is a typical day at C4KK for the kids...now what I didn't show was...
Yummy cabbage!
Lunch today at C4KK included fresh cabbage from the shamba! Soon we'll also have tomatoes and eggplant plus a new nursery is being started with carrots. Thank you Father for all aspects of this shamba (garden) to feed Your children.
