Thought I’d show you a few reasons why I’m missing Kenya:

My sister

My sister, Pauline (left) and her laugh.  She is usually such a happy person and therefore laughs a lot!

 Nice View Academy office

My brother Gideon.  He has such words of wisdom.  Around most people he isn’t much of a talker but with Chuck he surprises his wife, Pauline, and has much to say! But when he speaks you know he has consulted with God on the issue.

Tala

The small village of Tala and going to the market with Pauline, although going everyday does get a bit old!  And you’d be surprised how much you can live without when it isn’t available (no Wal-Mart/CVS/Home Depot etc.)

At school

The kids at Nice View, Mercy and Eldama Ravine.  Just watching them play or walk to their classrooms or watching a movie together.

We are, however, able to keep up to date with our friends, family and children in Kenya by email and phone calls.  We were told yesterday that the children at Eldama Ravine Children’s Village are seeing the people in the village of Eldama Ravine struggling for food, yet the kids are praising God for His providence that they are able to eat.  Because of your support they are seeing God’s providence.  But with the price of food continuing to rise we need your help.

Chuck put out a plea in our last newsletter – “What we would like to do is purchase maize, beans and rice in enough quantity to last for the rest of 2009 (placed in the storage buildings which were built last year) so the orphanages could hold out until the next scheduled rains this October (please pray to our Lord for this mercy) and the subsequent harvest in January 2010.  What will it take to ensure our 372 children have at least the staples above to eat for the rest of the year?  It will take approximately $11,000USD…we need your help!

Please pray about the above request and if you are led to help you can visit our website to donate securely online or join The Change Campaign and become a $12/month supporter.  Our children in Kenya continue to survive by God’s Grace and those He moves to assist.  Thank you for your help and please tell others about the plight of our kids in Kenya.
