Let me first say that above all things I am thankful for God’s gift of salvation, His love, forgiveness and mercy.  He brings joy and thanksgiving to my heart every day, “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:16).  This “I’m thankful for” list is short but stems from my faith and a worldview the Lord has shown me.

  • my hubby, Chuck.  He is a strong, spiritual leader of our family and my very best friend.
  • my kids, Tarrin, Justin, Mark and Amanda.  They are seeking God.
  • my mom and mom & dad-in-law.  They have been completely supportive of us, both financially and prayerfully.
  • my health.  God continues to bless me and Chuck with good health.  He also puts fire under us to encourage healthier choices!
  • my home.  Shelter that God has blessed us with and we share with our kids.
  • my mission.  Taking the Good News to Kenya – what an adventure God has in store for us.
  • my voice.  I am able to talk, comfort, pray and encourage others.  Whether with my brothers and sisters in Christ, the homeless downtown or our kids in Kenya.
  • my heart.  God continues to transform me daily from selfishness to selflessness.
  • my eyes.  Being able to see Jesus in the faces of those around me.
  • my ears.  Hearing the cries of the orphans.
  • my hands.  They help me put my faith into action by helping orphans and those that come into my life on a daily basis.
  • my daily bread.  Every bite reminds me of those who do not have.
  • my shower.  Soon in Kenya I won’t be able to have a long, hot shower, so every day in it I’m thankful!

I didn’t even mention the trees, the air we breath, the miracle of our bodies etc. but we can be thankful that:

…God’s gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our Master.  Romans 6:23 The Message

Happy Thanksgiving!
