In October 2008 (while we were in Tala, Kenya) Chuck attended a driving class and received his Kenyan drivers license. This is a copy of it since it didn’t arrive at our Tala home until we were back in the States. Once it’s folded the size is equivalent to a passport – much bigger then what we are used to here, but it does allow him to drive legally in Kenya!
It’s strange to see handwriting on the official license, but it seems most everything is done by hand there (at least when we were there in 2008). The bank we use handles transactions by writing in a ledger book, the stores we frequent give us hand-written receipts (if we get a receipt at all) and now the drivers license has handwriting all over it.
Maybe when we move there in May things will have changed…or maybe not!
