Today I traveled to Michigan for one last visit before we leave the country.  My mom blessed me with the plane ticket and we had enough “miles” to upgrade my flight from Phoenix to Detroit to First Class (we’ve actually had these miles for quite sometime and I figured hey why not use them for something).  It’s the first, and most likely the last, time I’ll fly First Class and I have to say they are very nice seats!

This week I’ll spend time with my mom, visit a few friends and family and Sunday will be a full day of presenting Saved By God’s Grace at three church services.  Please pray my words bring glory to God and those around me will see His hand in everything we do.  They’ve asked me to give our testimony (which I’ve been posting here in a 15 part series) so please also pray for my nerves…I’m more comfortable behind a camera than in front of a crowd!

My mom and I will be finishing a quilt she is making me, she’s been working on it for about three months!   Seeing the progress so far is a tear-jerker…memories are sewn all over it.  I’ll post a picture of the finished product so everyone can see her handy work.

As the time for our move fast approaches (our son Justin set up an electronic countdown calendar in our living room…so I can’t deny the day is coming quick!) I’m feeling a bit more stressed (how am I going to get all this stuff done?) and melancholy (I’m not going to walk into the house and see my kids) but at the same time excited (what in the world does God have in store for us!?).

…the plans of the LORD stand firm forever,
the purposes of his heart through all generations. Psalm 33:11

I have to continue praying for the Holy Spirit to keep my heart and mind open to the Lord’s will and plan for this ministry.  Something I heard not too long ago hit home when a friend said we may not see the “end result” of what we are doing in Tala (it’s not a numbers game…how many accepted the Lord today?) but we may be the planters and someone else may come to Tala years from now and reap the harvest.  We must simply be obedient to telling others of God’s saving grace and showing them through our actions that God is love.
