This morning started out hectic, but a hectic-ness that I feel blessed to be a part of.  We were trying to figure out how to get into Tala because Gideon’s vehicle wouldn’t start so Pauline (using the newer vehicle) had to take Gideon and the kids to school, come back home, take me into Tala for a few things (like picking up a package from my kids!), bring me back home then she rushed to work.  But through all the rushing around I was able to go through all my errands in Tala without a hitch and that is really saying something here in Kenya!

Now that I am back home I am working on the computer – with electricity and internet, imagine that!?  And things are slowing down to the normal pace of Kenyan life.  Chuck is supervising the construction and I plan on organizing a few things in the house (very few because most of it is still packed in suitcases, but with a small area it’s always better to be a bit organized) in order to have room to sit.

Through the rush of the morning I was reminded of part of my reading yesterday.  “…God gives the Spirit without limit.” (John 3:34)  During times of frustrations or trials I sometimes think God can only go so far or He is limited in His options on how or when to help.  He created the universe and was here before time began, how can He be limited?  Remembering He is omnipotent and “gives [His] Spirit without limit” helps me to put my circumstances in perspective and I can ask Him for His Spirit to rain down on me.  Just imagine, having the unlimited love of God there for the asking  (as long as we are in line with His purposes He will refuse us nothing)

You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”  James 4:2-3

My prayer is He is equipping all of us each day during the hassles and the slow times to be the best servant He wants us to be and to go to Him in prayer asking for His Spirit without limits for His glory.
