This morning Chuck woke up not feeling well…stomach issues and the usual that goes along with that. I helped him to the bathroom (thank you Lord for an indoors toilet) then back to bed with some Imodium (thank you Kelli and Theresa for leaving it). Quick prayers were lifted up throughout for healing, quick recovery, God’s will…you know the types of prayers I’m talking about. It seemed that’s about all I could do, other than be here for him.
Once he was settled in bed I began my reading for the day and wouldn’t you know it, God comforted me!
Those who go to God Most High for safety
will be protected by the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “You are my place of safety and protection.
You are my God and I trust you.”
God will save you from hidden traps
and from deadly diseases.
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you can hide.
His truth will be your shield and protection.
You will not fear any danger by night
or an arrow during the day.
You will not be afraid of diseases that come in the dark
or sickness that strikes at noon.
At your side one thousand people may die,
or even ten thousand right beside you,
but you will not be hurt.
You will only watch
and see the wicked punished. Psalm 91:1-8 (NCV)
Not only was it comfort for me but for Chuck and he didn’t even know it, yet! I’ll read it to him when he is up and about.
Please keep Chuck in your prayers for God’s will to be seen through this illness and also the country of Kenya as many Kenyans are voting today. Gideon said he is voting because he wants to exercise his right to vote and he wants his voice to be heard. May more and more Kenyans feel that way and may God bless them in their efforts.
