Mwaitu is a term of endearment for elderly women. This mwaitu is Gideon’s mother, who lives with Gideon and Pauline and she is 114! This is actually a translated quote since she only speaks Kamba.
“It doesn’t matter what time the blessing is, it’s what’s inside that matters.”
– traditionally blessings are given in the morning, Pauline asked mwaitu to bless her since it had been some time since she had done so. Pauline mentioned it was after lunch so perhaps she would rather do it the next morning but mwaitu told her otherwise…she’s a very wise lady our mwaitu!
