Last Sunday Chuck and I decided to head to Mercy orphanage with apple streusel, thank you Betty Crocker, and milk.

Chuck cut the cake and as each child came in to get their feet measured for shoes (thank you donor for the shoe funds – shoes are scheduled to be handed out this Wednesday at Nice View) they each got a piece of cake and a carton of milk.  I can’t even remember when the last time was these kids had milk so even without the cake it would have been a treat for them.

Once Chuck, Annastacia and I had tea and cake (the kids were afraid they would be given tea instead of just the milk!) Chuck had a few pieces left over so decided to do a little Bible trivia for the remaining cake and milk.

Once the first question was answered and cake handed out the attention became much more, well, attentive!  Even when some of them had to guess at the answer, they wanted more cake and milk.  While Chuck had the game going I was sitting on the couch (opposite Annastacia who you can see in the above photo sitting) and the girls began playing with my hair and very quickly put me to sleep!  Sorry Chuck 🙂

You have to admit my eyes do look tired here!

It was a fun afternoon, the kids got a sweet treat, Chuck got in a bit of Bible teaching and I got a nice, hmmm what would you call it?, put-me-to-sleep-hair-playing?!  Whatever you want to call it I’d say it was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
