In Matthew 13:8  “…where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

I never understood the number sequence.  Why start at the top and work down?  That’s not the point of this post but I would love to hear your comments on this one!

This verse, however, reminded me of a guy who approached us the other day for money.  He came to Chuck’s window and asked for 20 bob (20 shilling) for tea.  Chuck told him we paid workers, would he like to work?  He simply ignored that question and went on to say “if not 20 bob how about 50?”  Chuck told  him no again and he said “well then how about 100 or 200?”

This guy apparently doesn’t know the art of negotiations.  If we weren’t willing to give him 20 why on earth would we give him 200!?  And did he honestly believe we would after being told no to 20?  Not sure where his logic was going with this, but I guess he gets an A for effort even if he didn’t get the 20 bob, or 200!
