Back in the States I would enter the occasional contest…I haven’t won a bunch of stuff but a few nice items like a set of pots and pans, free advertising (for the ministry), CD’s just to name a few and really I can’t think of anything else I’ve won. Anyway, I saw a contest here in Kenya and the prize was an electric fence! So I guess if I’m building a jail that would come in handy…ok I only say that half jokingly, Kenyans take their security VERY seriously and I would imagine an electric fence is an awesome prize for most.
Then I had to wonder, the people entering the contest must be in an area with consistent electricity (an electric fence isn’t much good without the electric part, right?) and where they can actually enter the contest (I can’t see a villager heading into Nairobi just to enter a contest to get an electric fence which they may or not win and may or may not be able to even use!)
Just another one of those little reminders….Dorothy you’re not in Kansas anymore!
