Thought I’d let you in on what’s been happening here lately – nothing very exciting but just life for us here in Kenya:
- interviews with sponsored kids are almost complete – a couple kids were absent so I’ll have to get them later.
- those interviews will be included in our new sponsorship photo album coming soon to our new sister organization website Caring for Kenya’s Kids.
- Chuck’s heading to Nairobi on Wednesday for a few things to do with the NGO paperwork
- I’m getting the spare bedroom ready for our visitors on Thursday night…I am really excited to see them!
- ran out of credit on my phone (for the first time since I’ve been here) and it feels weird that I can’t communicate via phone until it gets topped up…and since I don’t have enough credit to even top it up using the usual phone call I’ll have to wait for Chuck to top it up..bummer.
- my phone stopped using the space bar – sonowallmytextlooklikethis or they-may-look-like-this-if-I-feel-ambitious!
- opened a new puzzle (one I’ve done before but not since moving to Tala) and it seems all the edge pieces are missing and no it isn’t the type of puzzle with no edges…weird but I’ll see how it goes.
- have to really start working on the new website for Caring for Kenya’s Kids and getting our web presence for C4KK!
- The kittens at home are getting big and Pauline is ready to get them out of her house…I may be a foster mom until they are big enough to go to different homes, but I’m ok with that.
- received a coconut from Pauline she brought back for me from Mombasa, now to figure out how to crack it open!
- Chuck and I have been drawing up ideas for the new children’s home building.
- seems I may have been charged for internet service that I didn’t ask for on my phone BUT the “free” customer service number says I don’t have enough credit to make the phone call…aaarrrggghhh!
- remembering that even through the sometime frustrating and boringness of life God is working, preparing, teaching and just being Him.
