The end of school for most kids in this area was last Tuesday or Wednesday.  Meaning the kids in secondary who are boarding at school need money for transport to return home and that is where the predicament comes in.  We have one student (let’s just call him Steve) who told us his aunt doesn’t want him around and won’t send money for transport and if he does make it home she complains about what it “costs” to have him there (extra food basically).  Which has all been true in other peoples cases and therefore was upsetting to me.  That is until Chuck ran into his aunt (we’ll call her Mary) the other day and she had no idea Steve was even out of school.  So who do I believe?  Did Steve tell us that just because he wanted to be at the shelter with Annastacia and the other kids?  Is he manipulating the situation for his own benefit?  Or was Mary pretending to be surprised Steve was out of school because she didn’t want to be seen as the “bad guy”?

Who do I believe?  Who can I trust?  I would rather both just tell me the truth so we can deal with the reality of the situation instead of trying to figure out what’s the real story.  In my devotional it said “The single most difficult pursuit is truth and love.”  He went on to say yes it should be pursuits, “but put them together, pursue truth and love at the same time and hang on baby, you’re in for the ride of your life.”

Aunt Mary is supposed to visit the property sometime next week and I would love to have both her and Steve together to get this out in the open and discuss it.  Not sure if that will pan out but praying a lesson can be learned from this for all parties involved.
