Normally I wear my hair up.  It’s just easier and doesn’t get in my way.

But especially over the past 2 weeks I’ve worn it up….no running water at home (C4KK Children’s Home is fine, it’s our personal home) meaning I haven’t been able to shower or wash my hair.  Not to worry though, we’ve been bucket bathing with water we take home from the children’s home!  However, for washing my hair it really does help to have running water (my hair is very thick and long).

After going more than two weeks without running water and not really sure when it will begin again, I finally decided to wash my hair at the children’s home…..running water, cold but running!

So I’m wearing my hair down for a day or two…just because it feels so good to have clean hair!

Even through the hassle of no running water I’m so thankful the kids have running water and we are able to at least carry water home from the children’s home for bathing.

Please remember to be thankful for those things which may be taken for granted….running water, food on the table, electricity, internet, friends and family.  Our longest time without water and electricity has been 6 weeks and we’ve not seen family/friends for almost three years.

Having gone without many of these things has certainly moved my thankfulness meter up several notches!
