Here’s the situation with the power at C4KK…..
Day 1 – call Kenya Power and told someone will come out. No one shows up.
Day 2 – call Kenya Power and told the problem’s been fixed, funny thing though we still don’t have power. Evening time Roman calls and is told someone will come out (yeah right, at night!?)
Day 3 – call Kenya Power and told we never filed a complaint so they’ll have to start over. Chuck talks to a supervisor and is told someone will come out by 11. Noon and no one showed up. Call Kenya Power again and told to call a different service station (one which doesn’t service our area). Call the service station anyway and are told “we don’t service your area”. Call the supervisor again and she was told someone had come out and fixed the problem….but we still don’t have power. Our electrician (who is working on the mission home) follows our electrical line and finds the problem. We tell this to the supervisor and she says someone is coming (again). Get a call around 3:30 from the supervisor telling us the tech’s car had broken down and they will show up sometime today still (funny though the tech’s had told her they fixed the problem already!)
It’s now 4pm and we are working on generator because we still don’t have power. So for any of you whining about being out of power for 20 minutes….talk to me when you are out for 3 days and counting 🙂
Silver lining though to being out of electricity, it forced me to paint the veranda wall. Can’t show you pictures yet as it’s not finished (need all the kids around to finish it and I’m hoping that will be tomorrow). And I am thankful we have a generator we can use briefly to get emails out and this blog post.
But seriously, I am praying for any who are out of electricity that it comes back on quickly. I know how frustrating it can be.
