Ministry, being asked to be part of a mission for God (oh that sounds like Blues Brothers!) and accepting that invitation, is not always a thing of beauty.  Ministry deals with people, imperfect people including whoever is “working” the ministry.  Different personalities, ideas, cultures (in our case), perceptions and expectations abound making for a hodge podge of opportunities to show God’s love.  Unfortunately, because I am imperfect, it doesn’t always work smoothly and I, being honest, lose it.

When you are loving people and are a part of their everyday life, nine staff members plus 29 kids, there are bound to be daily situations which must be confronted and disciplined.  God disciplines me and I know He also expects this ministry of C4KK to help discipline/guide/counsel those living and working here with His perfect guidance.  Again, I don’t always exude His love but I pray He helps me the next time to do better.

We’ve experienced some ugliness lately and have had to and will need to not only discipline but do that through love.

The beauty?  Knowing that what I do is because God has allowed me the opportunity to serve Him as He wants, not how I want.
