Kind of a broad statement I know but even through the tough parts of the day….hearing about others troubles with immigration, Bosco telling us of a 10 year old boy running away from his grandparents because of abuse (his mom works in Nairobi) but Bosco intercepted and took him to the village elder, “entitlement” attitude creeping into even the 3rd graders, adults who act like children (yes that was all today before lunch!)….we had a bright spot. Our cat, Spunk, went into labor and over the course of about 1 1/2 hours she had three healthy kittens.
This morning as I read my devotional Spunk came and sat on my lap. She was very restless and just not acting like herself. So I took her into the room where we had an area set up for her and she immediately went in but was still very restless and couldn’t find a comfortable position. After she settled down a bit I got up to get some stuff done on the computer but she followed me out crying at me….so I turned around, went back into the maternity ward and she quickly followed me in and into her area!
She continued to move around until finally I could tell contractions were coming and a kitten was on it’s way into the world! Spunk took her time with this litter because after the first kitten was born it was about 15 minutes later the next was born and then 30 minutes later the third, but I stayed with her the entire time.
Once the kittens were cleaned up and settled in Spunk finally fell asleep with them nursing.
In the midst of darkness, corruption and well, simple human greed, here is life and I will celebrate it!
Please pray for the above situations for God’s presence in each and every instance and we continue to show Christ’s love to those around us.
