My basic wardrobe here in Kenya is t-shirt and…
My hair routine; wash it every 2 weeks or so, ponytail and I’m good to go. I haven’t colored my hair since 2007 when my daughter, Tarrin, suggested I quit coloring it. I took her advice and have loved it ever since.
It isn’t that I don’t care, I shower daily but that’s pretty much the extent of my beauty routine. Those things just aren’t that important to me, which wasn’t always the case. I was a sucker for all those “new and improved” eye creams, beauty creams, makeup routines, body lotions, newest fashions, etc. but over the years I’ve learned who I am isn’t wrapped up in any of that. Although I do admit to putting a little patchouli on before heading in to town…it reminds me of Tarrin 🙂
I am a child of God, created for His purpose and glory and He has put other things in my life which require my attention rather than focusing on myself. It is quite freeing and another step for me towards selflessness….wanna be like my Jesus.
Tam,
GREAT post. Love you.
