Caring for Kenya’s Kids (C4KK) is a NGO (non-governmental organization) here in Kenya and we are more than a refuge for orphaned and vulnerable children. Here on the compound of C4KK we have 25 kids living here, all blessed with three meals a day, medical attention (when needed), education, and so much more but also are part of a loving family.
There are 12 staff members who help take care of the children and the compound and are able to take care of their own families because of their job.
But did you know C4KK does more?
Recently a girl from Koma Ranch Primary School (this is the school where our kids attend) was unable to bring her own lunch to school due to the poverty at home. This affected her not only in being hungry (which I’m sure affected her school performance) but she was also unable to take her ARV’s at the time prescribed. So our kids were sharing their lunches with her until we were made aware of the situation and began packing another lunch specifically for her. She now has lunch every day at school and is able to take her medication.
Another area we are working is a community well, located about 10 hours away. A donor has generously donated the funds for this project and it is coming along well (no pun intended!). The current well collapsed and the community was forced to find water where they could, many at the local animal watering hole. With this project the well will be dug down 10 more feet (from 70 to 80 feet), the walls braced so they won’t collapse again, electricity will be run to the well so a pump can be put in, a tank will be put above the well so that the community will simply turn on a tap for clean water!
Recently Chuck and Bosco took a trip to the area to help with some of the piping for the well.
So you see, there is more to C4KK than what you may have realized. I don’t tell you this for thanks but to give God the glory for what He is accomplishing through this little ministry and to thank Him for continuing to provide through you, our supporters!
