What is it about relationships which affect our hearts?  There is so much pain and suffering in this world yet most of us can function pretty well on a daily basis because we don’t have a “relationship” with those thousands upon thousands who are dealing, right now, with pain/loss/suffering.  The sadness and grief I hear on a daily basis shouldn’t disable me because as a Christian I have hope in Jesus Christ and He shines the light upon any situation to bring that hope alive in each of us.

Recently we’ve heard from several friends for prayer….medical concerns, cancer, AIDS/HIV, job issues and I think of how heavy my heart is for my friends.  Yet my heart is nowhere near the size of God’s heart and to know He hears (Psalm 34:17-18) and understands (Hebrews 2:18) each and every hurt in this world CAN give you hope (1 Peter 5:10, Revelation 21:4) .

I do pray for you my brothers and sisters, those who are hurting and those who are seeking.  I pray we can say the words of Job:

“Naked I came from my mother’s womb,
    and naked I will depart.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;
    may the name of the Lord be praised.”

In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.  Job 1:21-22

I also thank Him for the blessings and providence He provides to each of you, may we all remember the blessing of life, family and friends.
