Our friend Joseck and two of his girls are here visiting for a couple of days.  Saturday they had a Christmas party for families C4KK Benevolence has helped in Luanda (you can see photos here) and then they traveled all day Sunday to arrive at C4KK for some rest before Christmas.  Today Cynthia and Patricia helped with cookie decorating while Joseck and Chuck did….well, man stuff I guess.  I did hear they killed at least one snake, sounds like man stuff to me!

Joseck also updated us on a few stories from the field.  I’ll start with a depressing story first and end on a good note.

While preparing for the Christmas party, Joseck called a local self appointed “apostle” and asked him if he might donate some funds to help a few orphans and widows….his response, “I don’t have money for such things” and then published on social media the elaborate party he threw for his anniversary. Lord forgive us.

Now, you may remember Hezekiah

who had both legs amputated.  He had to be carried outside because he didn’t have a wheelchair, but through C4KK Benevolence he now has a wheelchair and is able to move around (this is also thanks to the donated time of a nurse who helped care for his wounds).

Joseck told us Hezekiah goes into town every morning now to buy a paper.  He said “my own people had declared me dead but I am a changed man.”  He is also attempting to put together a youth football (soccer) league, Hezekiah was once a professional soccer player.  He asked Joseck for help with uniforms…God willing that will happen.

We were told of the families who are now paying it forward because of the love of Christ shown to them.  C4KK Benevolence team members are gladly sacrificing their time to help roof, put in a floor, assemble bunk beds, etc.  People are hearing of the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ…Praise God!

Your giving helps make these stories real, it brings hope to those who felt neglected, a light is shone into their lives.  Please consider becoming a supporter of C4KK Benevolence by visiting our website’s secure, online donation site.  Thank you for any and all assistance.

Then I was able to skype with my mom and sis!  We had a few dropped calls but eventually we were able to see each other and chat!  They were at a coffee shop (since my mom “quit the internet”) and the espresso machines were going off and my mom says “are they going to stop that noise!?”  Probably not mom since it’s a coffee shop!  Loved seeing them!
