All the kids are now back at C4KK and what do I do? Feed them a sugar laden cake of course! Thankfully they are all outside now running off that sugar 🙂
Ok, but first things first. We have an abundance of napier grass (thank you Lord for that blessing) so was able to sell some to a neighbor who is beginning to work with dairy cows.
Then when we were finished with that errand we brought Max and George over for a play date with Bear and Pixie. Max and George are our new compound watch dogs and they are throwing themselves into the position with all their heart and energy!
Pixie doesn’t want much to do with them but Bear will play…for a bit.
After that we went to pick up the chicken and chips from Kula Happy 🙂
From pen to plate, right before your eyes.
I asked the kids their favorite part of vacation. Apparently when I say vacation it sounds like chicken because Erastus said “legs”. Haha! I asked him if he liked legs on vacation to which I got a blank stare. Finally Peter said “holiday”, oh right, what was your favorite part of holiday? The answers I got were mostly “happy to spend time with relatives.” Yeah, love that answer!
The kids enjoyed a yummy meal while chatting and catching up.
Then it was cake time. I have to give a big shout out to Nancy for the great cake decorating items. Loved making this cake for the kids! It was my first time “dirty icing” a cake and filling it,
It was also my first time making and working with rolled butter cream, not the most successful either,
However after piecing it together it might be slightly off tilt but the kids loved it! Side note – rolled butter cream is waaaay to sweet and the kids actually agreed with that!
Some of you may see a new face in the group….far right in the back next to Philes (house mom). That’s Dorcas and she is here now helping Philes with the kids and basically being with the kids during their activities. Haven’t talked much with her but the kids seem to like her.
The kids are still outside even though it’s getting dark and will be working off that sugar for awhile! Tomorrow is a big prep day as the primary kids begin school on Monday so they’ll be shaved (hair cut), uniforms washed, back packs made ready and hopefully getting a good nights sleep.
