Hope you don’t mind but this will be a rambling post….thoughts are a bit all over the place but wanted to get some sort of post out to you.

Bear, our dog, has learned how to climb the fence in the backyard and jump to his freedom.  He LOVES running around the compound, chasing the cats and basically getting totally muddy.  We can’t just let him run around though because he goes through the fence to the neighbors and honestly I don’t trust them to 1) bring him back or 2) not poison him.  So we are in the process of getting a higher fence.  So all that to tell you this morning as I was skyping with our Saved By God’s Grace board (Chuck was out milking cows, long story but we had to sack our previous milker for stealing from us) I heard Pixie going crazy outside which normally means Bear has jumped the fence once again.  Sure enough as I was on the computer I heard him barking at what I thought was a cat.  Once I was done with the meeting I went outside to find Bear with ‘something’ which I thought looked like a soccer ball the kids had made. As I got closer and called his name, he looked up at me with a mouth full of feathers and it was then I saw he had a chicken pinned to the ground.  I wasn’t sure if it was still alive until I got Bear back in the house and saw the chicken walking away.

Until the fence is done whenever Bear is outside he’ll be tied up so he can’t jump the fence and boy does he have a way of looking at me to make me feel totally guilty, but it’s for his own good.

We had two good nights of rain recently and I guess that brought out the slugs!  I found this one slowing making its way to the shamba and apparently he had to crawl through Bear’s hair!

Then Splinter caught a snake and brought it to her kittens for a feast.  They only ate the tail so Chuck tossed it away.

I made cupcakes for the kids, just for a treat, and got to use my cake decorating stuff again (yeah!).  Simple but delicious 🙂

And a six year old named Peter is going through tests to determine if he needs heart surgery.  Peter is short of breath and unable to walk long distances or run and play with other kids his age.  C4KK Benevolence is assisting with the cost of tests but if surgery is deemed necessary that will cost $3000 (USD).  If you are able to help with Peter’s surgery please visit our website (www.SavedByGodsGrace.org) and click on our Donate page.  There you can go through the secure, online donation process and please put “Peter’s surgery” in the comment section.  Here’s Peter with his mom

I guess this post started out light but ended on a heavier note.  That seems to be the way in life, you get good times and bad and must deal with them all…

There is a time for everything,

and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Thank you for being with us during these seasons of showing the love of Jesus Christ to our neighbors.
