Today we received news of Lydia’s death. Last September C4KK Benevolence had assisted her by paying her “hospital jail fees” so she could be reunited with her son. She is now with our Savior, not feeling pain, but basking in the glory of God!
Our friend who visited her in the hospital said “Her major concern was her two years old son who too has the hi-virus. She had many questions that demanded urgent answers….who will take care of him, what will happen to him? And as i left the hospital she asked me to bring her some items of which i got and was ready to present to her only to meet her lifeless body being taken to the mortuary.”
I can’t imagine the pain of a mothers heart knowing she will be leaving her two year old. I can’t imagine because the culture and family I grew up in would never allow that to happen…someone would take care of my child, I KNOW that. She did not have that and it breaks my heart.
I did not know this woman personally, never met her (I will though meet her in Heaven!), but as I sit here and think of her final moments in the hospital I am brought to tears. The pain and anguish which must have been so overwhelming for her not to know what would become of her son must have been unbearable. I can hear the desperation in her questions and wanting that little comfort of knowing someone would take care of her son. Sorry but at the time of this posting I did not have any information on this to pass along.
Part of the “package” of ministry work is broken hearts (trials). Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.…James 1:2-3. We may not like the trials, broken hearts, or struggles but look at the endurance we are producing, endurance to continue onto another day of serving God.
Another situation we are currently working on is Anastasia (you can read her story here). She was seen at a hospital where after examining the eye they saw a large growth in the eye socket and because of the fast growth believe it is cancerous.
We then consulted with our friend, Dr. Okoth, who recommended she be seen at Moi Teaching & Referral Hospital for a scan and possible biopsy. Joseck is taking her there today and we will keep you updated.
Please consider becoming a monthly donor of the C4KK Benevolence project (you can find information here). By being a part of this ministry you are assisting moms, orphans and grandmothers see the love of Christ and they too will encounter trials but also produce endurance. Oh what a reunion we’ll all have in Heaven!
