I’m not going to say much on this post other than tell you this is some of what has been happening the past week through C4KK Benevolence:
Children wait in tattered clothes for their turn at being treated for jiggers
This woman is showing where her baby is affected by jiggers. Many people have them in their buttocks due to sleeping on the ground.
Hanging out in the baking soda bath to treat jiggers
Sophie had to sit up in a corner with her children in order to stay dry (rains have begun in her area) but C4KK Benevolence replaced her roof.
Sophie and three of her children stand in front of their newly roofed house
Getting the jigger treatment bath just right
Not only were orphans and widows treated for jiggers but they also received a little food
This man “had gone empty for many days and when we brought him food he wept saying, “at least for a couple of days from today, I and my children will have something to bite”. He is HIV positive and the wife deserted him and their two children aged less than five years. Their house is in bad shape and very soon it may cave in”
“Despite being eaten alive by jiggers this widow had a reason to smile when we blessed her with a bed, mattress, blankets, food and also bathed her with the disinfectants we had carried with us.”
“This lady described it as the visitation of God. She was very grateful to own a bed.”
Assembling beds for distribution
“This lady has jiggers all over her body, her children too have been affected. This has made the community to abandon them saying that they are cursed. We bought them a mattress and they too will benefit from the disinfectants that were donated to help this community deal with the jiggers.”
Sweets always puts a smile on kids faces! We are told most of these children are orphans.
So there you have an update in pictures of a portion of last weeks happenings. If you’d like to be a part of putting smiles on kids faces, showing people they are not “cursed” because of jiggers, letting others see the love of Christ through acts of kindness and mercy, feeding the hungry and sheltering the widow and orphans (and much, much more) please consider becoming a financial supporter of this ministry.
