Why do you suppose Jesus said, “The poor you will always have with you…” (Matthew 26:11)?  Couldn’t He just make poverty go away?  Why doesn’t He do something about it?  Whenever I hear questions like these I’m reminded of a story I heard once,

Someone was asking God why He didn’t do anything about poverty and He replied “why aren’t YOU doing anything?”

I believe the poor will always be with us because of our greed, not anything God does or doesn’t do, but from our sinfulness.  Do you honestly believe with the world’s resources poverty couldn’t be eradicated? I’m no economist but I sure see a lot of greed and misuse of resources (not pointing fingers unless I also point at myself too).  Anyway, that’s not really my point on this blog, it’s simply to say the need continues and Saved By God’s Grace along with Caring for Kenya’s Kids attempts to do what we can with what God provides.  Here’s a look at what’s been happening lately (and no this is not a complete picture, much is done on a daily basis but these are highlights).

A mom’s hospital bill was paid so she could return to her children…they look pretty happy!

Our friend Joseck sprayed a home for jiggersjigger-treatment-of-house

These two young children have not been going to school because of the jigger infestation on their feet (and sometimes buttocks).  It’s painful and they are teased by the other kids.  Now they have been treated for jiggers!

These two youngsters have no family and were left to fend for themselves after their mother died.  Organizations in the area wanted to “hold a meeting” to see what could be done….meanwhile C4KK Benevolence got them a bed, mattress, blankets and food and our friend is looking into their situation.children-receiving-assistance

You see?  The poor will always be with us.  Please consider partnering with us on a monthly financial basis and C4KK Benevolence will continue to press forward and bring a little hope to more families/children like these, along with showing and telling them of the love of Jesus Christ.
