Maybe you remember our recent visit to Zaidi ya Dreams and the cuteness we were bombarded with! If not, you can see those precious little ones here. C4KK is now assisting Zaidi and they have four children in need of sponsorship. Their stories are heartbreaking yet they are now in a loving environment and thriving. Your sponsorship will help in making sure they continue to have the love and care they deserve.
Emmanuel Madiba is 18 months old. “On new years eve when Madiba was just three months old his mother approached a neighbor who she did not know well. She asked the lady to hold her baby while she rushed somewhere. She has not been seen since. He is a serious boy who takes in everything around him. He is quick to learn and copies everything the older babies do.”
Daniella Wanja (aka Bella) just turned 3. “Bella came to us as an abandoned child at 18 months of age. She was violent and aggressive but some how had a sweetness about her and a happy smile. She was unable to speak any words.
We found out later that she was lost. Her mother went to the police station looking for her but by the time we arrived the police had chased her away with out getting any information, because she was too drunk and was causing a scene. It was a month before she came back again. By this time we had established that Bella had been abused and neglected for some time.
We met with the mother but became concerned that she was intending to sell Bella as she said she wanted to send Bella to the country to live with her parents but refused to give us their contacts or that of the local chief. We were able to speak with a family whom the mother had been staying. They begged us not to return Bella as they were very worried about her safety as the mother was an alcoholic and a sex worker, leaving her little time to care for the child.
Bella had been lost on four previous occasions. We requested the mother to return with the contacts to her extended family but she failed to do so. Bella is now a talkative, happy child with an opinion on everything. She still struggles with her past trauma but she is handling it well.”
Ivan and Ivyon (twins) are two years old. “The twins were living on the street with their mother when she approached New Life Trust for help. They gave her shelter and a job in their center. After a short time the mother left the center leaving the children behind. Their growth charts showed a drastic reduction of weight in the center and they arrived to us malnourished.
Ivyon was particularly malnourished and lacked any luster. She quickly picked up and became a bright and happy girl. She is cautious of strangers and a bit delicate on some days while being out going the next. She is a chatter box although she uses mostly her own words that nobody understands. She will not do something she does not want to do, not without a fight.”
“Ivan was quiet and reserved but now he is bold and always investigating. He is easy going but some times likes to pick on his sister.”
