Lately I’ve seen on social media percentages and stats being thrown around regarding poverty.  Does it really matter if 1%, 15%, 50% or 99% of the world is hungry or doesn’t have shelter or can’t get medical care or is unable to afford primary/secondary education?  I guess if it were at 1% we’d have a better chance of eradicating poverty (perhaps), but no matter the percentage there are people going to sleep without food, sleeping on floors, dying because they have no way of receiving medical care and children not going to school because of school fees.

Will knowing the actual percentage make us feel better about our position or maybe if the percentage is low enough I can justify not helping.  I don’t need to know the stats to know what the reality is for many, many people….I see it.  Do the stats matter to Sarah?

Sarah ,widowed at 35 with four boys and one girl lives in this wreckage she calls home.. all she does is fetch water for sale @15 Kenya shilling per 20 litre can in order to feed and pay for school levies for her kids who attend a public school. A quick look inside the house, I see a bed (not quite a fit bed) with a sisal mattress on top. I didn’t see any blanket and didn’t ask if they had any. Common sense tells me, they have none! I am sorry if this isn’t good for you to see,but I have to let you know that this a real people,in real situations that you and I can assist. Consider buying Sarah something she can glorify the Lord of her life with.

Sarah needs no statistic to tell me she is in need of assistance and there are many more “Sarah’s” who are in need.  Please consider partnering with Saved By God’s Grace as we show the love of Jesus Christ.
