Our friend and fellow worker in Kenya, Ben, works tirelessly helping widows who are struggling with HIV/AIDs. Medicine is purchased, food is provided and even their house rent may be paid. Many times Ben is the last person they see before succumbing to the disease. He is there with a loving touch, oftentimes washing the patient and dressing wounds since no one else is caring for them; prayers are said and he tells them of the hope we have in Jesus Christ; and he attempts to help the children who are left without a parent, this is many times the last request from a mom who is dying…take care of my child.
Ben says, “It’s not an easy thing to do, but it’s always worth it.”
Life deep in the villages can be very challenging and lonely for the bed/floor ridden. Here we don’t have community health volunteers ( CHV’s), no one to do home visits to check on the sick widows and orphans. Thank God we do visit a few anytime we come to this villages. Ben
“She had no clothes and the whole house was in a total mess, but by the end of the day she had a clean place. By the way she was covered in poop from her head to toe and bathing her wasn’t all that easy, but i am glad we managed to help her today and we will continue daily until she gets out of this situation by God’s grace”
“Doing what i was called to do. It’s not always easy, but God’s grace is always sufficient.”
Working side by side with Ben was literally a gut wrenching experience every time we went with him into the slums of Nakuru, Africa. Your prayers are greatly appreciated and we’d like to request your financial assistance as well. Ben can only do so much with the funds allocated to his program but with your help more widows and single moms can be assisted.
Please consider becoming a monthly contributor to Saved By God’s Grace and if Ben’s work particularly touches your heart you can put his name in the comment section and your donations will be used for his program.
