The holiday season is now upon us! I guess the media has been trying to get it upon us earlier but now that we are actually in the month of December I’d like to remind everyone that if you are doing any Christmas shopping at Amazon please go here to set up Saved By God’s Grace as your ministry of choice on Amazon Smile. It’s your same Amazon only now Amazon Smile will give a percentage of your purchases to Saved By God’s Grace!
We also have a couple of special projects we’d like to put out there for your prayerful consideration in supporting this holiday season.
Ahh, grandmother. Does that conjure up memories for you? We have two food programs which include around 240 grandmothers, they are between the ages of 85-105 and many are taking care of grandchildren. Faith runs one program, once a month, in Ruiru, Kenya and not only gives each grandmother a hot meal but they also have fellowship, Bible study and are given food items to take with them.
This year we would like to bless all our grandmothers with a warm sweatshirt. It’s a simple piece of clothing but to these grandmothers it would be a tremendous blessing and something to show them we care. For $5 you can be that blessing to one grandma.
If this touches your heart please go to our donate page, click on the Donate Now button. Once there (our secure, online portal) please choose “other” from the drop down allocation box and write “grandmother” in the comment section.
Another is our chapati project. Our friend Ben is working diligently with those living with HIV/AIDS in Kwa Rhonda, a slum in Nakuru, Kenya. The people he works with are unable to have any sort of “treat” at Christmas and chapati is considered not only a treat at Christmas time but also a traditional food item. Through Saved By God’s Grace Ben hands out medicines and food while also bathing and attending to their basic needs. He holds their hand, prays with them, and is often times the last person they see before succumbing to their illness.
We would like to hand out as many chapati meals as possible and for $5 you can help us get the ingredients. If food is your language perhaps this project would fit in nicely. If so, visit our donate page and click on the Donate Now button. Once there (our secure, online portal) please choose “other” from the drop down allocation box and write “chapati” in the comment section.
Lastly if education is your thing then this is for you! Believe it or not but our kids have requested to continue tutoring during the December holiday because they realize that education is their opportunity for a better life. Peter, our social worker on the ground in Joska, Kenya, asked the teachers about this and they volunteered their time to show their appreciation for all Saved By God’s Grace has done for them and the children of Kenya. This is a huge blessing! For this to become a reality we would need $1,000 to keep the facility open and food.
Please visit our donate page and click on the Donate Now button. Once there (our secure, online portal) please choose “other” from the drop down allocation box and write “tutoring” in the comment section.
Lots of opportunities to show the love of Christ to our neighbors in Kenya and bring a bit of joy to their lives. Please prayerfully consider one, or all of these projects to be a part of your holiday giving this December. Thank you and God bless.
