Helping the hungry is certainly a privilege and God continues to bless those efforts. It’s wonderful to see so many families receive food items when they were in dire situations but I’m also haunted by those who did not receive. It breaks my heart to think of a young family, desperate for food, is unable to obtain a few kernels of maize.
I tell you this to thank you, first off, for your generosity in making this maize distribution possible and also to spur you into action if you are sitting on the fence about helping. There are widows, orphans, single moms, child head of households who all need your help.
Our friend Ben, who coordinated this distribution, tells us
We managed to distribute food to 180 households each received 9 kilos of dry maize. Each household had at least 5 members. Many said this was a miracle since most of them had totally nothing to eat and had no hopes of getting any food soon.
Though some desperate cases came late but there was no food left.
We covered all the seven villages in Rhonda slums. We had police security and officials from ministry of health including the public health officer in charge.
Asante sana (thank you very much) and God bless you.
A good exercise. Many families were blessed today. Many testified that they didn’t have hopes of getting food for their children anytime soon.
Ben
Every kernel of maize was wanted and needed. Saved By God’s Grace doesn’t have an advertising or marketing budget, it’s word of mouth and your sacrificial giving goes to help widows, orphans, elderly and those in need with food, medical, education, housing and most importantly, the message of God’s unconditional love for them. They are able to see that love through the actions of His people and we are thankful for you being a part of this ministry.
