Last year my Nook Color crashed. My friend, Bobbie, had gotten it for me and brought it on one of her trips to Kenya. When it crashed, and they are not sold here, I had no way of returning it other than getting it back to the U.S. (love how God works out the details on even these small things!) Our friends, Kate and Johnny who live a few hours away, had a friend from the states come and visit. Sara graciously accepted to take the Nook back to the state’s with her. Once she returned to the U.S. she sent the “brick” back to Bobbie. Bobbie then talked to Barnes & Noble about the problem and they decided to replace it (even though it was over the 1 year warranty time). Bobbie then tried to find a way of sending it to me but shipping would cost almost double what a new Nook costs, so that wasn’t an option. Then Kate informed me she had another person from the U.S coming to visit. I got Caron and Bobbie connected, Bobbie sent her the Nook and Caron brought it to Kenya. Kate held onto the Nook while we waited for a time we could get together. Then recently another friend, Matthew who lives near Kate, came to visit and brought the Nook to C4KK.
This Nook has had quite an adventure around the globe and I’m so grateful for every person involved with its travels. Now I get to organize it and reset my personal settings (need to get the time right!)
