You know how when you spend time with people you start to feel more comfortable around them?  That was definitely the case with our Kenyan family, Gideon and Pauline Musembi.  Our first night at their home, way back in March 2008, we ate dinner at the table.  Sounds normal for us (actually not so normal for our family, we tend to watch movies while we eat together!) but Pauline usually serves the food from the dining table then they all sit in the living room to eat.

So it was a welcoming sign when on the next night the food was on the table, Pauline and I served the food, then we all sat in the living room for some comfortable conversation.  We knew then we were part of the family.
