What a great bunch of kids at First Baptist Church New Baltimore!  They have fund raised for C4KK, raising money for pigs (which we will be getting after Chuck and I return to Kenya) and school uniforms.  They are excited and eager to help in any way they can, with the faith of a child which can move  mountains!  Thank you Tina for a beautiful display of our kids in Kenya!

We were able to speak to each age group in AWANA and heard some fun and interesting questions and suggestions!

This group asked “do they have McDonald’s?”  When Chuck told them no McDonald’s, Taco Bell, etc. they gasped and said “that’s just not right!”  I agree, that isn’t right!  Then they asked “do they have interent?”  Nope, no computers (we did explain we would like to do a computer room once the next floor is complete on the mission home) to which they again gasped and said “that’s just not cool!”  Again, I agree with their analysis!

When asked for their ideas on what to raise funds for they suggested toys, tall buildings and one smart little guy suggested we buy money and send it over so school fees could be paid!

The next group, 3rd-6th grade I believe, had deeper questions….do we do adoptions?  (no)  Why do we call it Caring for Kenya’s Kids (C4KK)?  We could not use Saved By God’s Grace (our non-profit here in the US) for the NGO in Kenya and came up with C4KK.  Their ideas for what to raise funds for were 1) just give them (C4KK) money and 2 ) raise funds and let C4KK decide what to use it for.

The last group included teens (sorry the teens left before we took the photo) and their questions ranged from “how do the kids get around?” (walk) to “what type of animals are in our area?” (hyenas are the most troublesome).

As parents began filtering in to pick up their kids several hung around asking more questions and one little girl came up to me, reached in her pocket and took out three shiny nickels. She put them in my hand and said “please take this and give it to the kids in C4KK”.  I told her I certainly would and gave her a hug.

Another little one brought me her Bible and said I must take it to C4KK, read it to the kids and make sure they know about Jesus!  (this was ok’d by her mom!)  Thank you Lily I will make sure the kids receive your precious gift of God’s word!

What an evening….we met new friends, visited (briefly) with friends who came to Kenya last year and saw the faith of a child(ren) being lived out.  Father God never ceases to amaze me with His children (in this case literal children) loving their neighbor as themselves!  Thank you FBC for your warm welcome!
