So our kids make up the entire team of volleyball at their primary school and are about half the football (soccer) team. The school district had sports day today and there was a bit of confusion. We were under the assumption (after being told this) our kids would be catered for transportation to the games but Peter (our social worker) was called to the school yesterday at 3 pm and told we would have to find our own transportation. Needless to say Peter was quite upset and said the kids wouldn’t be going due to the late notice (believe me, it isn’t easy to organize transportation for 15 kids). This morning (the day of the games) a couple of the kids came crying, saying they weren’t going to the games (they had been told about the transportation issue) but of course they went to dad (the softie) and he called the principal to find out what was going on. Not sure what happened but he told Chuck to bring the kids to the stage (where they would board a bus). You should have heard the squeals of happiness when they heard they were going.
Again, not sure where the line of communication faltered but it seems it always falters and makes most events last minute…frustrating to say the least.
Plus, as a side note, we were out of electricity all night until 5pm today…thankful it came back on though.
That’s the way it went today at C4KK.
