As we move closer to the time the grade cow comes to the compound we continue with preparations.
Chuck works on the milking station (to keep the cow out of the “people” area and to keep the cow in her area).
A “food processor” was also delivered. This contraption will slice the napier grass so it is easier for the cow to eat and digest (hence better milk production!)
Figuring out how it works
You crank the handle which moves the teeth and blades. The teeth pull the napier into the blades and those in turn cut the napier to what you see on the ground. That’s a lot of cranking so we may eventually get a motor.

While I was out taking photos Bear is learning to walk on a lease. He’s doing well so his reward…..a roll in the grass!
