Following is a video from Amnesty International which introduces us to a few of the thousands of women living in Kibera, Kenya (according to Wikipedia, Kibera is the third largest slum in the world).   The video is about 6 minutes but please take the time to listen and see how these women and thousands others are living everyday.

Some of the children at Nice View were sent out of Kibera by parents/aunts/well-wishers etc. on a matatu (mini-van public transportation) and told to stop at a village and hope that someone will take care of them…many came to our village of Tala.  When I interviewed the children I heard many sad stories – “I don’t know where my parents are”, “my mom remarried and they didn’t want to take care of me anymore”, “my dad left our family and mom couldn’t continue taking care of me”, “mom died and I don’t know where my dad is”, “my grandmother is too old to take care of me anymore”, “mom and dad died from AIDS”.

Saved By God’s Grace has been called to the villages of Tala, Koma and Eldama Ravine, Kenya and we are currently working with 375 children.  Because of your support they are going to school, they have clothes, shoes, school supplies, access to medical attention and enough food to last through this November.  They thank God He is providing through you.

I thank you for your continued support.  If you’d like to find out more information about Saved By God’s Grace, view pictures of the children and orphanages, or watch a few of our videos please visit our website.
