C4KK social workers (Peter and Fridah) have been busy doing home visits of the children being assisted through C4KK Benevolence and told us the need in our immediate area is so great we could spend years working right here.

Currently we are diligently wading through the information to figure out what can be done with the most desperate of cases and 73 children at our local primary school have received new school uniforms, school shoes and inner ware.

But God also has us working in other parts of Kenya, for example:

Joseck, a C4KK Outreach team member in the Luanda area of Kenya, “This is Paul Anemba a former street boy at Luanda market getting a haircut and holding onto his new pair of school shoes. C4KK Outreach Team took him back to class 4 at mumboha primary school. Paul is an orphan and lives 1 kilometer away from Luanda.  Despite being on the street sniffing glued he scored above 50% in his first test.

Angeline was feverish from malaria and her mama could not get her medication, but she is now doing better.

Angeline’s mama also needed to be admitted into hospital for the birth of her child.  She had complications and could have died, but thanks to your financial assistance baby Mary was born and both mom and baby are doing well.  However let me briefly tell you mama’s story:

Mary’s father (Angeline’s husband) left to “get a job” 9 months ago when mama became pregnant and has never returned nor has anyone heard from him in that time. The hospital was considering if they would release her with a bill outstanding (they can do that in Kenya) and the other two kids are staying with a friend because there are no relatives to assist. The “home” they will go back to is literally a cow dung room with canvas bags sewn together for walls. There is no water and she has no source of income.

This girl, along with her sister, were left at the bus station by their mother…mom said “everyone for themselves” and left.  Thanks to C4KK Benevolence and C4KK Outreach team members a place was found for them to stay and they received a new mattress, along with other necessities.

In cases like these we estimate it would cost approximately $1,500 in order to get families into a “secure position”.  This may include paying hospital bills, medical treatment, beds, mattresses, roofing to repair leaks, getting some food, paying school fees or many other necessities.

C4KK is looking at building a women’s/children’s temporary shelter along with a sustainable project (chickens) in this area to help women and children like Mama Mary and others.  We are currently in the process of receiving a plot of land being donated to C4KK for this purpose, so please watch the blog and newsletters for more info as that becomes a reality.

It might be a touchy subject for some and maybe some think I mention it too often but it takes money to assist and continue doing what we do.  I’m certainly not afraid to ask because I KNOW God will move people to assist and from the beginning God made it clear we are to tell people of the needs and allow Him to move hearts.

Thank you to everyone who supports this ministry and/or other ministries which are being the hands and feet of Jesus.  If you’d like to be a part of Benevolence projects here at C4KK please visit the Community Benevolence page (this will take you to our C4KK website where you can find information and ways to be involved) or visit our donation site to start your financial support then begin seeing the blessing you can be to those in need.
