We recently visited Wasamaria Wema to see the water tanks, which C4KK Benevolence purchased, being delivered.  Normally on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday the water comes through the tap from the municipal system.  On those days the staff at Wasamaria fills cooking pots and 20 liter plastic containers with water to tide them over until the next water day.  If the water is not flowing or they run out they must buy water from a nearby kiosk.  Now with the water tanks they can fill the tanks when water is flowing and have enough for the non-water days.  This will also help with hygiene because now the kids will be able to wash anytime (rather than using the water needed for cooking).

After the tanks were delivered Agnes (founder of Wasamaria) borrowed a hose from the neighbor (we’ve given her funds to purchase their own hose which she will get asap) to fill up the tanks…..but the water had stopped flowing for the day, bummer.  Now they will have to wait until Tuesday to fill the tanks.

What a blessing to be a part of providing water to a needy school and you were all a part of this too through your donations!

During the week they feed approximately 70 kids two meals a day and on Saturday that number goes up to around 160 kids, all on this stove!
