Sometimes you have to search for the beauty, other times it’s sitting in front of you and you just don’t notice or it’s buried beneath the pain and suffering.
Today we visited Okemi and Ruby again (you can see the beginning of their story here) but I’m getting ahead of myself, let’s start in the morning 🙂
We had a good night’s sleep (I guess that isn’t morning but hey it’s been long days) and had a nice breakfast…although we were making lists, planning the day and meeting the fundi (craftsman) who would be working on one of the projects today. Things were finally settled and we were off to buy cement for that first project.
Then delivering said cement to Grandma Joyce’s home where her floor was being completed. Joyce is also a tailor who is making two dresses for Ruby.
As we were driving through Luanda I had to take a picture of “normal” sites here in the market….coffin sales and outdoor cooking.
After this we then picked up Joseck’s brother who was visiting for the day and went to Okemi’s home to give him and Ruby another jigger treatment. We also had some guys digging a latrine for them so Ruby (and Okemi) won’t have to use the bushes much longer!
By the end of the morning both Okemi and Ruby had their feet treated, clean clothes put on and encouraged by the love shown to them. We found beauty in a small mud hut with two of God’s children living with pain and suffering.
Please consider becoming a monthly contributor to C4KK Benevolence (click here for donation info). We will continue this ministry as God leads and provides, going to where His children are suffering and helping to bring a little hope to their lives. Our prayer is they will see the hope in Jesus Christ and we will see them in eternity.
Oh Our dear friends, how Christ has called you! Eternity will be forever and your rewards great!
