Oh how I wish many of the stories and photos I share with you were those “once in a lifetime” thing. Alas, these are happening every – single – day. I do not show you these for any reason other than to show you what is happening and giving God the glory for His name being claimed. As I mentioned, it is happening right here, right now and the C4KK Benevolence Fund attempts to do everything we can with the funds we are given (thank you!).
Our friend says “Thinking of taking the boy to a good hospital, but the villagers think it’s too late and that there is no hope. Praying and hoping against hope.” My friends, it is never too late to give hope and here at C4KK we attempt to make every dollar you donate stretch as far as we can to help as many as we can.
Here are a couple of families, brought to our attention, who are in dire need of assistance:
the condition of this little boy and his sister brought tears to my heart. Suffering alone with pain, disease and hunger. Their sickly dad told me that they always sleep empty on several occasions. Thankfully, I had some wafer which I gave them. I am working on a program to buy sacks of maize, rice and beans to distribute to widows, orphans and the needy in this village. Praying.
UPDATE – Dad, sister and baby Kassim were given more food and drink
Kassim was washed and dressed before being taken to the hospital where he will stay for a couple of days.
Getting to the hospital requires a motorbike ride.
We are building them a house, a kitchen and digging a pit latrine for them. Giving them reason to have hope again. Their house was destroyed in the middle of the night by heavy rains as they slept.
Dear friends, I know that we cannot help the whole world, but this guy badly needs our help. He was attacked by thugs and cannot do heavy work. This is his house and he fears as it continue pouring heavily in this part of the world his house may cave in and bury him alive. I did not promise him anything but we prayed for him. Trusting God for funds to help him build a house, a pit latrine and a kitchen.
Even trying to help someone and asking nothing in return comes with conflict
Some village elders discussing the way forward after the step brothers of a man we are building a house for refused to allow us build the house. Thankfully the chief intervened and the house will be built from tomorrow.
This is only a small look at the need which is brought to us on a daily basis. If you are able to assist, either monthly or a one-time donation, please visit our Donate Page for more information. Your gift no matter how large or small will give hope to those who feel they are in a hopeless situation by allowing them to feel Jesus’ love for them.
Tammy, I applaud you & Chuck for all the sacrificial work you’re doing in Kenya. It’s one thing to work with cooperative communities but it’s quite another, to constantly push against the wind of opposition, especially from the people you’re trying to help. Take heart and keep your eyes on the prize….even Jesus was despised and rejected by His very own. May God bless you & keep His face shining upon your lives. I’m glad to serve with you! Love, R~
