Recently Chuck and I were in Nairobi doing some business for the NGO and we try to get in a little down time while there….eating out at an actual restaurant, maybe seeing a movie. But you know what? No matter the down time we continue working with orphans and widows. However much as I would love for these situations of desperation to be no more, life continues on and the need is there. Here’s a bit of what’s happened lately.
Baby Divine was taken from his mentally handicapped mother several months ago and brought to Julius & Dora Children’s Home.
Baby Divine being examined by Dr. Ralph. A couple of kids here have pneumonia and C4kk Outreach is taking care of their medication.
When Joseck arrived at Julius & Dora they only had this sufria (pot) of milk for all the children.
C4KK Benevolence Fund purchased some food for the kids.
This baby boy was found wrapped in a plastic bag in a rubbish pile. Dogs were tearing at the bag when a passerby heard the cries. Joseck brought him to Julius & Dora.
Kassim from the hospital. He is doing very well and we bless the Lord. He loves eating a lot which is good for his current condition.
You can read about Kassim here.
We have four centers where we give free food and early childhood education. In these centres orphans and needy children come to get education and food free of charge. Today we donated foodstuffs, books and sweets to two centres where we run the feeding programs. Ben in Nakuru
Several young people were able to return to school after having school fees paid. These two girls look pretty happy to be returning to school!
C4KK Benevolence Fund was also able to rebuild three homes for families whose houses were destroyed by the rains.
Feeding programs continue in several areas.
We received this message from Ben in Nakuru:
She is a 12 year hold girl named Wanja, fragile and shy. Was attacked [raped] by a neighbor and had to undergo surgery. We have decided to bring her to our house and take care of her and even take her to school once she fully recovers. She has been out of school for two months because her mom could not raise money to buy her school uniform and shoes. Keeping her in hospital is too costly. She will be at ours as she recovers.
You see? It doesn’t stop. The needs are overwhelming but we continue on by God’s grace and know God is much bigger than any situation we encounter and He will be glorified throughout. I also thank God for His workers who are diligent in serving Him amidst the desperation, hopelessness and often times opposition. Please keep C4KK Outreach team members in prayer for continued strength through Jesus.
Your donations are assisting so many here in Kenya and I pray you are blessed knowing you are giving hope to those who have lost hope. Please consider becoming a supporter of Saved By God’s Grace ministry which will continue helping widows and orphans.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27
