For those of you who don’t know, we are now in the States. We arrived in Phoenix on Friday evening and it’s been a whirlwind of activity since. It’s only been a couple of days here but I’m getting in my “kid” fix with my kids (3 of them at least, the 4th we’ll see, God willing, in December).
I would love to say my mental state is great but it’s harder than I thought being here. Balancing the happiness of being with friends and family all the while knowing the desperate situations are still happening on a daily basis in Kenya. We no sooner got off the plane when messages started coming in about medical issues, food issues, school issues, home issues and just basic issues (as if these weren’t basic enough). Life continues on no matter where we are but I do know we will be working diligently with our projects in Kenya and talking to as many people about what is happening there.
We still have openings for speaking engagements, dinner, lunch, coffee, ok and breakfast (I’m not a big breakfast eater but Chuck loves it!) so just send me an email or message me on Facebook or if you have our US number you can sms us.
Please bear with me as I adjust to US culture and forgive me if blog posts are a bit slow in coming….as I said, I’m soaking in as much kid time as I can along with friends!
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome and I’m sure I’ll be posting more “adjustment” posts for you later as I wrap my head around it.
Funny I haven’t taken any photos with my kids yet (but will be for sure) but I did take one with Gandalf who sat with me this morning for coffee 🙂
