Grandmothers in Kenya are strong women!  Many have lost their adult children to AIDS and are now caring for their grandchildren.  They were struggling before but now with the added burden of feeding and caring for their grandchildren they are desperate.  C4KK is beginning to work with this group of women in assisting with a feeding program.  They meet once a month (hoping to increase this to twice) to receive a hot meal of rice or beans with a veggie.  During their meeting time they also hear the word of God from Faith, who is the founder of Comfort Self-Help in Juja, and receive a little food (flour, cooking oil, and rice or beans) to help them in the following week or two.  Not only do they receive food items but toilet paper and washing soap as well.  They are encouraged and told of the love of God, which gives them some hope of the future for their grandchildren.  We are looking for supporters in order to increase the quality of food and the amount of food given to them and their grandchildren.

This boy was kicked out of school for not having the “correct” shoes to wear to school. I may not agree with the whole school uniform concept but that’s the system and school shoes are required.

Habel’s feet were so badly eaten up by jiggers he had to tie them in rags as he moved around, but today he had a reason to smile.. C4KK Outreach Team brought medicine to treat his condition as well as others in this village. He said, ‘your coming here has given me hope to live, Mungu ni mkuu.”(God is great).
