Every day Saved By God’s Grace outreach in Kenya assists families and children like the following and their stories always keep my perspective grounded.  It also points me in the right, Heavenward, direction. Please feel the sadness, pain and sorrow from these photos but I ask you to also experience the joy, hope and thankfulness which is being felt by many because someone cared enough to help….your financial assistance is part of that.

A child is unable to wear shoes due to the infestation of jiggers in his feet.  Saved By God’s Grace’s ministry outreach in Kenya is helping many students receive treatment.

Several workers were piled into the lorry to transport them to work, “but again they must have passed several Police checks .Who is to blame? Poverty and corruption are twin brothers.”  Joseck, Saved By God’s Grace outreach team member.

We thank God a member from the local church (Revival Worship) who just that morning had her baby dedicated was involved in the accident but both are doing well.  Mom has only minor scratches and the baby has no injuries.

45 minutes after the accident occurred there was still no response from the police.  Here’s the ambulance and chaotic accident scene.

A family of seven had only a small cup of porridge and two pieces of sweet potato to share for their evening meal.

Families are discovering the joy of sleeping on a bunk bed with a real mattress for the first time in their lives.  For many this is all they have to sleep on:

There are however sparks of light being shown through Saved By God’s Grace outreach and the local community.  A businessman in the area donated several bags of clothing and shoes which will help many, many families.

I’m certainly not saying we have all the answers and I’m not saying you shouldn’t have a comfortable bed, or a pair of shoes, or go out to dinner.  What I am saying is think about what Jesus told us:

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?  When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’  Matthew 25:34-40
