In case you haven’t noticed…..things move a bit slower in Kenya! Saved By God’s Grace has been working on a chicken project (to bring a self sustaining project to the Luanda area in Kenya) for the past two years. First it was a process to actually get the land donated then funding for this specific project has been slow. We do thank Blessed Sacrament Parish congregation in Midland, MI who have continued to support this project from its inception.
This chicken project will not only supply a much wanted commodity (eggs) but will also provide a job for some of the widows and families we work with in the area.
What’s still needed? Funds of course! We have an estimate of $8000 to get this project up and running which includes:
- 800 chicks
- feeders and drinkers for the chickens at various stages
- heat source
- brooders
- vaccinations
- chicken feed
If you’d like to be a part of this project please consider a donation at our donation page (simply write “chicken project” in the comment section). And be sure to watch this space for more updates on this and other projects we are working on in Kenya.
